The Balkans

The Balkans were an adventure I wasn't expecting to find. Montenegro led me from one of the most picturesque mountain bays in Europe to tour ancient monasteries high in the mountains and lush river valleys on the Albanian border. I discovered tropical paradises, sandy beaches and streets filled with the sound of motorcycles. Croatia led me to cities beside the crashing waves of the Adriatic Sea which were steeped in complex history. Here I had many views of ancient architecture.
