Memories of the Islanders

Welcome to Easdale Island, a carless island off Scotland's west coast. A colourful and unique place on the sea, steeped in mystery. Walking here, I imagined myself in the footsteps of those who once called these stone houses home. I could feel the history and power in the land here. Wait, maybe even the voices of the families who once called this area home, when their boats washed up on these shores, perhaps thousands of years ago. Who were they? I asked myself as I wandered through the past, stood in front of their homes, and imagined them staring out at the red flowers that graced the ancient walkways by the sea.
