A Stairway to the Unknown

While exploring a new region of Scotland, I began hiking through a forest. There were many intersecting trails, and you had to use your imagination on where the paths ended. I discovered this mysterious staircase in the forest, and became very curious about where it lead. There was an old castle nearby, and the stairs were quite ancient, though didn't seem to lead to any particular destination, and I found myself imagining how they might have been used hundreds of years in the past.
